Callum has this sort of state that can be triggered by life-threatening fights or high emotion... (It's like a by-product of his time in the military, especially because he was the only captain/in charge person + the fact he was a suit user with magic.)
(The suits are gov. issued, they're a kind of armor and are given to high ranking mages (e.g. Callum) because the suits run their insane protection on mana which only mages have. High level mages only get them since the average mage can't be using that much mana at once and consistently for so long.)
[I used a lot of new techniques+ones I don't really use!(using multiply to shade...) I genuinely really like how it turned out TwT✨)
