When I first heard of this contest, I was really excited to paint a piece with some really vibrant colors, and didn't resist x]
This piece is titled "Uirapuru", an indigenous word tied to a creature in Brazilian folklore, which means "bird that isn't a bird". And indeed, this one is made of paint! ^^ The name is also used for a very colorful bird species in Brazil!
I used Medibang for the first time too, and can say I had a blast! The brushes had very nice texturing, and coming up with a cool composition was quite easy :] I was already familiar with FireAlpaca and Krita, so getting started was a breeze!
