Fantar versus Raio Negro

This is a illustration I drew for my friend Edno Rodrigues, a retired penciler and fanzine editor. Edno is brother of late veteran comic book artist Edmundo Rodrigues. Edmundo drew comic books of almost all genres (comics for kids; humorous comics; terror; erotic; superheroes; cowboys etc) and also worked as art editor in Bloch Editores, a great, but now defunct Brazilian publishing house . Among the comics Edmundo drew were the four issues of "Fantar, o Monstro Atômico" (Fantar, the Atomic Monster), written by Milton Matos and published by GEP in 1967. Fantar was like the monsters of old Atlas comics and it was like an amalgam of Godzilla, Hulk and Submariner. Raio Negro (Black Bolt) was a superhero created by the late writer/artist Gedeone Malagola . Edno and Edmundo also drew some Raio Negro issues: Edno as penciler and layout man, Edmundo as inker and letterer.
