She is an anime version of the pawn piece in the game, chess. After so many exchanges of pieces and destruction left behind, they reached the endgame, where there is only the king and his pawns left. It is a battle of precision to achieve victory or a chance to hold onto a draw. Both ways, it allows one to not lose. However, one blunder can lead to defeat. As the White King blunders, a black pawn slipped through and found its way to the promoting square. The White King can no longer catch up on the piece. A promotion to be the new Queen! Hence the piece she is holding on our right-hand side. She throws away the other piece which represents her previous role which is being a pawn. And with this, the powerful Queen, with her unlimited range and mobility, they will capture the White King in no time.
