A dull, muted painting based on the pain and suffering of love. The use of depressed colours represents the anxiety and depression created by love. The candle represents the small hope after a bad experience with loving someone, also the rose petals symbolise love, however there are few, representing the loneliness created by love. The blood droplets also represent the pain and suffering caused by it, and the skull represents the extent of love, resulting in death, or the fact people tend to truly love someone once they pass, or are passing. The skull itself creates a focal point in the painting due to the lighter shades of brown, which pops out from the rest of the muted colours.
