As a 20 year old I didn't get to play those ultra violent action games, neither those ridiculous dating games on Newgrounds while they were relevant, but as I am obssesed with internet culture, I decided to do my research on them and I can see why Simgirls defined the west views on dating games. It featured so much otaku culture in an era where most people wouldn't know about this culture. The thing which turns me off from it the most is its visuals, though. I don't really blame the author for it since most people on Newgrouds that made these games were amateur artists back then. Anyway, it's not really the game itself that motivated me to draw this, it's my fascination for old internet culture. And I'm not saying this because I'm a prude, I just find the impact and history of old Newgrounds content to be more interesting than most old Newgrouds content. I think Newgrouds gave birth to the way the internet allows for independent content creators to share their works with the world.
