The union of Eva and Shinji.
On one side you can see the brightness of Eva and on the other side a shadow, the same thing happens with Shinji. The shadow of the young Ikari is the Eva and the shadow of the Eva is the young Ikari. Neither one wants but is needed; Shinji needs the approval that only achieves piloting the Eva although he hates it and the Eva to move needs a pilot.
