Pecel is a food consisting of boiled vegetables and side dishes that are served with a different base according to the city of origin of the pecel, for example a stick dish called ingke, pincuk, or bamboo spoon. Vegetables served include long beans, bean sprouts, cucumbers, cassava leaves, and basil leaves. The peanut sauce sauce that is poured over the pecel is called the pecel sauce made from a mixture of kencur, brown sugar, salt, chili, kecombrang, kaffir lime leaves, and roasted peanuts that are mixed, crushed, or pulverized. In addition, some are adding leeks and tamarind to the warm water mixture to melt the pecel sauce.
Pecel or pecal (Hanacaraka: ꦥꦼꦕꦼꦭ꧀) is a food combined with peanut sauce as a main ingredient and mixed with various types of vegetables. This food is especially popular in the regions of DI Yogyakarta, Central Java and East Java.
