Don’t use the protagonist of a story as self insert so that you can write your obvious fanfic with a character you like. Just toughen up and make a self insert fandom oc. It can help to increase the believability of the relationship. And don’t bother with excusing it a y/n x character, we can tell when it is and isn’t y/n
