ok basically pink girl (Sofia) is kinda delusional and thinks there is always a good motive behind everything and pretty much she's a clingy person overall, but with a good drive: to make everyone happy.
On the other hand, the orange girl (Mattie) is a cannibal (for reasons I don't wanna mention rn), but another part of her secret got out and now shes basically looked down upon by the majority of the school.

Sofia just notices she's alone, wants to be friends, but doesn't know how bad the reputation Mattie has, and doesn't believe that reputation does a lot to someone. The cannibal doesn't want to bring someone down just for the company, so she rejects, obviously.
