---> My preferred style of roleplay is semi-literate. Please friend and PM me if you'd like a debunk of what this style of roleplay is. However, I'd be happy to match your style the best I can while still going into detail of how the characters feel, think, look and act like.

Experiment Log

Test One (1): Starvation Test

Synopsis of Test:

This Test is standard in the Abnormal Creature Ward of Starcloud Laboratories. It involves confining the intended Subject within their cell(or other method of containment) and refusing them food until one of the following outcomes occur:

1.) The Subject collapses from hunger and fails to rise within twelve (12) hours.

2.) The Subject attempts to attack/successfully attacks and eats a fellow Subject or a scientist.

3.) The Subject displays another exceedingly abnormal reaction, or the Test goes on for more than Four (4) months.



Our collective hypothesis, based on Subject Four's species and recently aggressive behavior towards handlers, is that within the month, it will resort to cannibalism and eat a fellow Subject or a scientist.

Day One (1) Observation Log

Observations made and recorded by Doctor Agnes Carr [Security Clearance Level Four (4)]



8:30 AM | Subject Four tried to attack me and my partner as we went to retrieve its cellmate, Subject Six, from the room for a separate Test. Not out of hunger, however. Simply out of spite.



12:01 PM | Upon returning Subject Six to the cell, Subject Four approached the cell door and requested food. To this I declined, claiming that it was punishment for the earlier outburst. Its reaction was to make a low growling sound and storm off into the back corner to sulk by its mattress, sheet, and pillow.



8:50 PM | When we came around one final time for a security sweep before lights-out, Subject Four rammed itself against the cell door in an attempt to escape for the second time since it has come to this facility. It made two tiny, almost imperceptible 0.3mm dents in the solid iron door, approximately where the creature’s horns would be if it ‘ninja ran’ into the door.

Day Ten (10) Observation Log

Observations made and recorded by Assistant Head Scientist Doctor Micheal Torres [Security Clearance Nine (9)]



7:30 AM | While preforming Subject Four’s weekly scheduled physical exam, I encountered several instances of bite marks along its hands and forearms, many fresh and seeming to be from this morning. When I asked it about these, it explained that it had a bad dream the night before, and it had harmed itself in its sleep. I bandaged Subject Four’s wounds and left. Surprisingly, it didn’t ask about food like Doctor Carr said it would.



10:45 AM | As I was heading to Subject Four’s cell to follow-up with Subject Six, Subject Four attempted to burst through the door as I opened it. It got past me and the guards I dispatched, though was stopped via taser by Head Scientist Doctor Alex Torres. After the incident, Subject Four was further restrained by a medium-weighted shock collar, in which any scientist above Security Clearance Four (4) has an activator to. Upon returning Subject Four to its cell the creature immediately tried to tear the restraint off. I shocked it once and it ceased, however, and retreated to its side of the cell.



6:15 PM | I came back to escort Subject Six out for its monthly in-depth examination, and found its cellmate staring at the wall, nose in the corner, seeming to be talking to someone who wasn’t there, or could not be seen. It wasn’t even phased by the buzzing of the cell door. Odd.

Day 30 Observation Log

Observations made and recorded by Doctor Agnes Carr [Security Clearance Four (4)] and Intern-Resident Mr. Klarkson Mage [Security Clearance Zero (0)]



7:30 AM | As Micheal had warned us of, when we administered the subject’s weekly physical, we encountered more of the bite marks along its hands and forearms. However, when questioned of it, the creature simply remained silent, avoiding eye contact. I instructed my accompanying intern to bandage its wounds, and he did so, though Subject Four struggled and resisted. I briefly shocked it so it would calm, and it did. Subject Four has gotten noticeably lighter, and its ribs have started to poke through its jumpsuit. As soon as we left, however, Subject Four tore the bandages off with a snarl.



11:00 AM | We came back around for a security sweep, and checked on Subject Four, who was, oddly enough, asleep. Calm. However, its pillow had been ripped to shreds. My intern-resident (With my express permission and close supervision, of course) entered the cell to clean up any stuffing and the fabric shreds. I suspect its horns got caught in the fabric and then tore it apart while it was asleep.



7:50 PM | With Doctor Agnes Carr’s express permission and direct supervision, I entered the sleeping Subject’s containment cell and took a small blood sample from its left arm. It became clear after a close glance at the thing that it hadn’t slept in a few days, so we didn’t call off the Test. Upon observing the blood underneath the microscope, I could see the red blood cells were shriveled, and odd golden flecks that we had previously identified as platelets were attaching themselves to the shriveled cells that would otherwise be dead. This discovery is strange, indeed, and once I'm finished with my intern-residency here I’d like to explore the properties of this strange occurrence further.

Day 31 Observation Log

Observations made and recorded by Assistant Head Scientist Doctor Micheal Torres [Security Clearance Nine (9)] and Head Scientist Doctor Alex Torres [Security Clearance Maximum]



9:17 AM | After getting word that the month had ended and Subject Four had yet to resort to cannibalism, I went to check on it and found it passing the length of its cell. We had removed Subject Six, its cellmate, at around 3:00 AM for bloodwork and a Shock Test, and upon catching sight of me Subject Four stormed up to the door, demanding to know where its cellmate was. It tightly gripped the iron bars that made up the cell door window, pulling itself up seemingly without effort. Oddly enough, it seems to retain most of its physical strength even in such a state of hunger. It may possibly be a thing with its heritage, but we cannot be sure. It is too unique, too obscure from the other Halflings even remotely resemblant of it. (In response to Subject Four’s demand, I simply told it to step away from the door, refusing to answer the inquiry.)



1:48 PM | As myself and my son, Micheal, were having a conversation about showing sympathy to the Subjects, we passed by Subject Four’s cell and smelled blood. Micheal decided to enter the cell, and caught Subject Four in the act of tearing off a strip of skin from her right forearm, eating it, and then preforming a weak healing spell to close the wound and stop the bleeding. Unfortunately, we did not have enough iron on it to keep it from doing magic, but after it was done Micheal spoke up, scolding the monstrosity, and it seemed guilty. After this episode we have decided to hereby call off the Test.

Experiment Result Synopsis:



After the first ten (10) days we have reason to believe that Subject Four was biting itself for food, but got hard evidence that this was the case after thirty-one (31) days. As this is an unexpected and unusual response to this Test, we will repeat this in the future to determine if this reaction remains consistent.
