I have an idea

I'm working on the second batch of adoptables, so, I thought it'd be cool if these ones were assigned to aesthetics. So if you want, you could suggest your favorite aesthetic and I might make a adopt based off of it. Idk, I think it's a cool idea :0

Do you guys have any tips for drawing hair? Because whenever I try to, it usually ends up looking a bit off.
If you have any suggestions or advice, it would be greatly appreciated :D

  • Hopefully some of what I do can help ya out 1: Observing and breaking down shapes is quite important! Learning how hair may sit or whay shaoes to use can give you a big upper hand 2: don't try to do a bunch of small pieces of hair, go for big shapes...try making them a little wavy/curvy....or a lot. I'm not making the rules... You can add smaller hair details after..but don't go overboard! 3: make sure you know how it sits on the head properly...if you don't have a good understanding of where the top of the head is it can affect both the hair and the head..it'll look longer, shorter, or more flat 4 is one I have to do often myself..though it isn't an everyone thing, it's: flipping the canvas to make sure one side isn't stiff. It may look normal as is, but when ya flip the canvas..it looks like its stuck straight... Plus make sure you can enjoy doing it, do it in a way that works for you. Always try to have fun creating 🐟

  • I suck at it, as you can tell by my art, but the one thing I do know is that hair flows from one spot (you can draw a dot or a line for that spot) and it all stems from there, like, idk how to explain it, but if you look at hair refs, you can see

  • My tips I hope these help: 1. Hair is big shapes when dumbed down so start with that. Usually I use big C, V, S, and O shapes depending on the texture. 2. Hair has volume from the head make sure it doesn't look super flat on the scalp. Thickness and texture of the Hair will affect how this will eventually look. 3. Start simple going for super mega detailed hair right off the bat is a bad idea-The simplest hair with rendering I can think of is a simple shape and white blob highlights that follow the way the hair flows. 4. Finally just experiment. Look at references study how other people draw hair use new brushes this goes for learning how to draw anything really.

  • Definatly looking up references usually helps me, and im not all that good at hair, but if I were able to see how you draw hair I might be able to help more

Okay so, I know that people cheering you on is supposed to give you a confidence boost or something, but the thought of people cheering me on just scares me. It just makes me nervous :0
Idk, maybe it's just me.

  • > 🐾 🇴‌🇱‌🇱‌🇮‌🇪‌ 🐾 That sounds so stressful! I'm glad you're okay though.

  • YEAH IKRR like once i was at this vaulting competition (equestrian vaulting is basically doing cool stuff on a moving horse) and we were just practicing, but i was really cold and not in the best mood so when i got up there i was trying to kneel on the horse (no hands and the horse was cantering) but i couldnt stay up there for 4 seconds, so my coaches were like "CMON! CMON! COMPETITION COMPETITION" and ik they were trying to be confidence boosting but that kind of did the opposite for me and i slid right off the horses back lol i was fine thankfully, i fall off kind of often but yeah i know what you mean XD

  • > CherryArtsOwO yeah its like YOU HAVE TO WIN OR YOU WILL LET DOWN EVERYONE

  • > 꽃 Yeah! It's like that! I know there are good intentions behind it, but it's still kinda pressuring

A

How are people so creative?? :0
The stuff people can come up with boggles my mind
I've seen so many cool and unique ocs and backstories for them it makes me wonder how on earth did the artists come up with them? It also inspires me quite a bit too :D

  • > 🐾 🇴‌🇱‌🇱‌🇮‌🇪‌ 🐾 That's super cool :0 I love confusing ocs with backstories you have to piece together

  • > ☕𝑀𝑜𝒸𝒽𝒶𝑀𝑜𝒸𝒽𝒾☕ Creating ocs off of music or animatics is an idea that I think is really cool :D

  • > 🎃🎃🍁🍂Saero_308🍂🍁🎃🎃 That's still pretty cool

  • ikr =O i really want to create backstories for my ocs that are quite confusing to understand but really mysterious and interesting. i kind of want it to be one of those things where it's all a secret and YOU have to figure it out? but at the same time i dont know if i can come up with something like that that actually makes sense and is cool lol
