I need help + potential contest?

(read whole thing to get the gist of it if you're interested)

Ok so I'm pretty sure no one's really that interested in that one pirate/lovecraftian au I have been working on for the past month or so, but I am considering doing a character design contest for it since I realized I need more characters in the second arc of the lore... because there's way too many plot holes and stuff-

Like take for example the crew of the ship "Godhunter", like it only has 4 solid crew member characters I've created. Four. Like how tf are you supposed to sail a medium/large sized sailing vessel in the apocalyptic 1750s with 4 people and one of them is a minor??? I suppose I could make extras but eH-

So I need to know how many people would join the contest, if I made one. (and actually comment pls don't just give this topic an ambiguous like) Especially since the contest is a bit limited on what entries can be based on current existing lore for the au, and also may require people to look up some lovecraftian monsters if they don't already know, etc etc.

For an idea of what it might be like, entries are preferably humanoid (no ferals/furries this time please, except anthro-fish and sea creatures are good) designs, either normal or with magic/supernatural/undead elements relating to stuff in the cthulhu mythos. And everything is set in the 1700s so the fashion and stuff is relevant to the time.

Again, not entirely sure I'm going to go through with this contest idea based on what people would think of it rn, but anything helps :) Thanks

I need another opinion on this /srs

So I found another person who stole my Technoblade tribute art, and since it's on Deviantart I can file a DMCA. Other than a DMCA, there's no other way to get it removed and this person doesn't respond to their messages. I don't really like the idea of filing a DMCA because the legal/personal info I am required to put on it may be forwarded to the infringer, meaning it can't be anonymous and could lead to things like doxxing, etc. So tbh I have no idea what I should do. I can file a DMCA and live with the risk of getting info leaked, which may not be likely, or leave the stolen art there and remain anonymous.

  • > bugboy (m00nstorm) Yeah the problem is that Deviantart doesn't allow 3rd party reports/contacting admin (they're too busy etc.) anymore, so sadly its either DMCA or nothing T_T Thanks tho

  • Ok, I dont have any other art programs so maybe don't take my advice entirely, but is there a way to report the art without filing a dmca? Maybe contact some people that run deviantart to see what they can do about it. I value internet safety quite a bit but I dont really know you very well so I dont know what your list of priorities like those are. I hope I helped at least a tiny bit! Good luck!

  • Art theft is just such bullshittery a whole nft stole and is trying to sell my work, I haven't checked that nft in awhile so it might've gotten taken down but that's me hoping for the best, art theft needs to NOT be a thing Bbbbruh
