i sat drearily by the window seat of the cafe, a small quaint one albeit, squinting tiredly at the glaring white screen of my laptop and the small encrypted font etched onto my microsoft word page. i leaned back into my chair with an exasperated sigh of desperation with my current situation. sliding my pale hand over weakly drag my half full coffee mug to my mouth, i skimmed my gaze over my university essay with a look of almost annoyance. i swung my legs aimlessly, averting my gaze briefly out the window. rain skimpily splattered against the slick glass in a disorderly fashion, careless and unbothered. i gently reunited my mug with the surface of the polished wooden table and placed my slim fingers onto my keyboard yet again. this essay wasn’t exactly going to finish itself, no matter how much i wished it would do so. after a few minutes of mindlessly tapping keys into my laptop, i took yet another hard look at the, now nine page long, essay. i sighed loudly, resting my head in my hands. this wasn’t going well. the essay was due in the next three days, and i wasn’t even close to being finished, which was undeniably stressful for a perfectionist such as myself. “..you okay there?” i heard an unfamiliar voice from my left side speak up, interrupting my train of thought and the hip song in the background, the only lines of which i cared to notice being ‘i’m taking over you’. of course it was a good song but the last thing on my checklist as of the time was listening to music played in a cafe that just happened to be writing my essay in. priorities, and all. i turned to the voice, greeted with a friendly looking man with slightly long silver hair and a welcoming smile, his soft and dewy looking pale golden skin caught strikingly in the golden cafe lighting. his appearance was captivating, almost angelic, causing a soft heat to rise to my naturally pale cheeks involuntarily, not used to such beauty. “..oh—umm, yeah. i’m fine- haha- just a bit stressed, that’s all.” i replied sheepishly, tripling on my own words being naturally introverted and awkward. he seemed to notice my embarrassed streak, a rabbit like grin spreading across his adorable face and accentuating the cuteness, pearly white bunny like teeth slightly dazzling, but pleasantly so. he seemed practically ethereal. “last minute essay, hm?” the man hummed in response, natural curiosity laced into his honey-like voice. i nodded with a slightly lopsided smile. he seemed to take sympathy for me, leaning slightly toward me with his head rested in his hand, forearm sliding against the wood smoothly as he approached my laptop screen. as he came closer it was almost as if my cheeks increased even more in temperature, gaze naturally averting to avoid it happening even more. i had no idea why my body was reacting in such a way, it was almost amusing despite my embarrassment. i watched as he scanned the screen with slightly squinted eyes, gaze softened at his natural attractiveness, captivated in his effortless beauty on such an average sunday morning. he leant back in his chair, nodding in approval. “it’s good!” his bunny smile returned to his face, replacing the look of concentration. i smiled in turn, appreciating his words of encouragement. “th-thank you.” i nodded softly, pulling subtly at the collar of my jumper to relieve the flusteredness. “i’m [name], by the way.” i introduced myself in a polite tone, taking the opportunity to get the man’s name. “i’m jungkook! nice to meet you, [name].” he smiled warmly, never faulting to have a positive expression on his face. jungkook.. a nice name, rolls of the tongue wonderfully. “and you.” i returned the smile, lifting my round glasses up my nose and back up to my gaze for a better view. i continued typing on my computer, suddenly being given the courage to continue with the essay and hopefully complete it. i could almost feel jungkook’s gaze still lingering on my as my went on with my work, but didn’t dare turn to face him out of fear of embarrassing myself even more than i already had. i watched out the corner of my eye as jungkook picked up his phone, reading a text of which i wish i could’ve seen. he soon started picking up his bag and getting ready to leave, dishearteningly so considering i wanted to get to know him better, though it wasn’t exactly the best situation to be doing so considering i had an essay to finish. i looked up at him as he stood, smiling yet again. “nice to meet you jungkook, i hope to see you around.” “it was nice meeting you too, and i’m sure you will, [name].”
