OKAY- BRAIN BLAST
the leveling system probably works around your standard like/comment ratio, so basically interaction with the algorithm like any social media platform (youtube, instagram, etc) with a specific time limit, I'm assuming 24 hours. The more likes AND comments you get on a post, the more likely it will level up. If your post can stay in about the top 20 for more than one day and continues to stay there or even go up in popularity (more likes and comments) the probability of it leveling up also increases.
Now, for the standard people posting, unless its super, spectacular, eye melting beautiful work of art that gains so much traction that it just levels like crazy- Artstreet seems to work like this: you get a level 1- following art works now have a higher chances of getting a level 1. You now level up to level 2- your following art works now have higher chances of getting level 2s, etc. That's why you may see a crap ton of the ppl in this community, like moi, who don't have level 4's but have A LOT of level 3's- we've basically climbed the "level" latter of probability 💀😭
now all of these things are probably standard knowledge, get likes, get comments, you win. But now always... dun dun DUN. Okay so you see, artstreet isn't perfect, the leveling system is jack- so basically, if you post frequently, and have a high probability of leveling up, there's a chance- let's say you post 3 arts in the span of 5 days- there's a chance one or two of those art works will level up. Even if all three of them have the same number of likes/comments to them. And this can actually happen if you don't frequently post too. What i'm saying is, there's a hole in the leveling system for people that have a high probability of leveling up. I think there's a limit to HOW MANY posts art street can level up per level as well.
And now finally, the outliers. These are the ppl you see with 3 followers, one submission that has 5 likes, and its at level 5. These are people that are probably close with artstreet, maybe apart of an illustration company that buys stock from artstreet. basically, the likelihood they're in artstreet's pants is high 💀 they will often be following 1 or 2 people, one of them being artstreet. And basically what artstreet does is they cheekily level up these submissions before the majority of the artstreet community bc there's a specific priority towards these peeps.
so for those who have gotten level 4's on here that are not in artstreets pants, I salute to you, you've made us all proud 😭😭

i keep seeing ppl complaining that other ppl aren't on anymore or posting and stuff and like, they feel its their fault? broskis, its not your fault, ppl are just busy, they've found a better art sharing website, or they're taking breaks
let's face it, artstreet isn't what it used to be- so if you don't like it anymore, don't feel like you HAVE to still post here- i'm mainly still here bc of the last bit of the community that is cool on here and others may feel the same as well
I feel like a lot of the older artists on artstreet are the ones leaving though, and by older I mean 15/16 and up. this is probably bc there are so many 12 and under kids on this platform which can become a problem if you draw horror/gore or..... the spicy kind of art- or yk, just don't want to communicate or interact with people 4 years your junior or more- especially when they're sending you friend requests and stuff like that
plus me personally, there are WAY too many 12 year olds on here talking about wanting sex- very uncomforting to say the least- 💀

should I attempt to draw a specific character from all of the main Undertale AU's (each of them in their own drawing, not like a big picture of all of them- I could not 😭)?
I say main bc guys, gals, and non-binary pals, there's over 1900 undertale AU's- one of them is literally about dream too 💀
so like the main ones would be, for example:
underswap- which is the one where the characters swap how they look and act (??) I always get it confused with underfell. Anywho, in underswap Papyrus would be like sans and sans would be like papyrus. Undyne would be like Alphys and vise versa.
underfell- similar to underswap? but- d i f f e r e n t . . . ? my friend explained it to be but ngl I forgot 💀
Errortale- i'm actually not 100% on the lore here but basically sans went crazy and is out to become the thanos of the undertale multiverse
Inktale/sans- um so i think there's only one character for this AU and that's ink sans-? I think the story is that the world in this AU got- destroyed? So ink sans warped to a different AU/world. Though in other stories, he also creates the different au's- so error san's polar opposite ig
Dancetale/Underfresh- I think these are the same? anywho, underfresh was an AU that was stylized after the pop and colorful 90s but I think there's also a parasite?? I think there's a parasite named or called fresh, I could be wrong tho
Lusttale- this one always bothered be, though I was 8 so baby me did not know what lust was. Basically everyones saucy, well- in mettaton's case- EXTRA saucy.
Horrortale- everyones spooky scary- I really like this one though because I feel like its kinda what you'd expect when you hear "monsters" and underground, yk? Like undertale flipped the switch on that trope but this AU plays on it- very interesting
Mobtale/Mafiatale- everyones in the mafia- they wear suits and have guns, its cool
and basically any of the gaster AU's- I legit forget if gaster's even in the og toby fox games tbh (if gasters canon of fanon basically).

yeah there's a lot more stuff now :0 there's a bunch more AUs, a lot more sanses and also there's alternate multiverses like DreamSwap and another which has fusions as well I think. I'm also working on one myself actually so yeah there's a lot of stuff to check out. Just be careful with the ships, the fandom goes mad with those

okay so I'd love to hear what everyone thinks about this but um i feel like this is a conversation as artists we should have.
I love picrews, nothing against them! I actually really love going through them and making cute characters randomly and being inspired by the designs or art styles themselves! I Think its a great way for artists to branch out and/or advertise too!! So, nothing against the picrew "business". However, I start to kinda have issues when I see people using them for adoptables.
Okay, I understand, there are some really good picrews that say you can use them for character creations, like an OC creator basically. But- that OC is meant to be ours, not "mass" produced quick designs that you give or sell to others as adoptables. There's a grey area here which i'm fully aware of. But here's the thing, the adoptables become disingenuous in my opinion because- literally ANYONE can go to that picrew and make the exact design you made that you're now giving to someone else- the great thing about adoptables is the design YOU create, not a picrew, and is UNIQUE, that you are now giving away. I feel like its fair to the person you're giving the design away to as well because- well, that design won't get "stolen" (not to say it can't, art theft is real man 😭😭) because its based off a picrew 😭
And yes I know "designs can change" believe me I know 😭 But still, I just find the act of making ANY picrew into an adoptable is weird. It feels like plagiarism in a way? Woah I know thats a big thing to say- but the artist created the picrew for you to have fun, even if its titled "OC creator". But here's an important note- what did the disclaimer for the picrew say? That you could draw the design you created or you could BASE an OC's design OFF of the design- like a reference or inspo? That's crucial and it makes a big difference. If its the latter, BASED off of the design, what you're doing is basically taking someones designs and giving them away bro- there's no sugar coating here 😭😭 And its even more serious if you don't disclaim they're picrew adopts (or picrews in general, its a very fishy vague way to show a cute picture "you created" but didn't actually create, yk?), you claim the art is yours when its not, and you SELL these (so not free to claim or free raffles).
