Mossy Backstory Time!

Moss Saltcraft, He/Him, Birthday- March Ninth, 2008- Age: 12, almost 13- Korean/African American (human form), Dutch Angel Dragon (feral/digitigrade form), Plant powers. If he has seeds, the right kind of soil, and the right temperature, he can grow plants or make them grow faster. Carries a bag with seed packets, sandwich baggies with soil, mulch, and fertilizer, a plant guide, and a water thermos.

He is raised by a Wickerbeast, Azoraith. She teaches him how to use his magic, how to fly, (she makes him climb trees and jump off them) and how to find the right kind of plants to eat. When he is 10, they relocate to the wild parts of Florida, where the Winters are mild. During the journey, Azora gets hit by a truck. Moss is stranded in the middle of a freeway, and has to fly to the other side. Moss roams the marshy forest, around the town in search of food and home. Late at night, he raids the back dumpster of a donut shop. Inside it, he finds a hissing, dirty pink THING. He pulls it out. It’s a butterfly dog, (shiba-inu/butterfly. My little sister made it, don’t ask.) and it says it’s name is Yakisoba (once again, my sister made it), and that she’s 6. (Ferals have human lifespans.) She’s lost, just like him. Her parents were captured in a Snatching Raid, where Strays (anthropomorphic animals/furries, known as Ferals, who try to live human lives) are rounded up by Snatchers (humans trying to collect bounty off of Strays by selling them off to Breeders). Yaki and Moss stick together. Moss knows the forest and finds them dens to sleep in, and Yaki knows the town and where to get the best food. The two kits become like brother and sister, and live as nomads, exploring the cities together for the next two years.
Now: future Mossy! Age: 17
Yaki is 15, and finds a girlfriend, Vanilla. She was adopted into Vanilla’s family, and gets a part time job helping Basil, a sheepdog at a farm. Moss works with Ambrosia, a human, at her florist shop, which they name “the Shroom and Bloom”. He rents a room above the shop, and continues to work there for the next several years. But I’m getting ahead of myself. When growing his plants for a client, he’s noticed by a bypasser. The person talks with Moss, and they decide to meet up after his shift.
The teen bean he is, Moss likes this human, with their passion for knitting and fan fiction. His name is Sedge (placeholder name, pls help). They become friends, and keep meeting after his shifts.
Then they fall in love. (This is cliche, I’m so sorry. Also I don’t know how relationships work, so criticize me all you want! It helps!) They go on dates at a Local Bubble Tea place, and binge the new season of their favorite shows together. One month turns into two, and then into five.
But! It’s very backward in society, for a human to be in a relationship with a Feral, other than a Pet and Owner.
So, let’s say it was awkward when Sedge’s mom asked if, and who he was dating. It took a while, but they finally “out” themselves to his mother.
That’s all I’m gonna do for now! It’s all I got.
