Ace was silently prepping breakfast for Jax and himself, focused on his work. He went to the fridge, taking bacon out of it and opening the package as he went back to the stove, getting a pan out and spraying it with olive oil. He turned the gas stove on.
Jax was silent as well; sitting at his place at the table whilst he waited for breakfast.
Ace spilled the bacon without notice, going over to the fridge and putting the package away.
A fire started.
Ace panicked, Jax oblivious.

Ace held his badly burnt brother. "Jax, please!-" he cried, sobbing.
When the ambulance arrived Jax was already gone.
