How to you give realistic proportions to your characters like the size of the head and how apart the chin is from the mouth and also how you draw hands and heads from different angles

I usually use a photo of someone in the desired pose as reference, or several different photos, but I'm probably not the best person for advice seeing as I almost never draw realistic proportions😅
