Hello Friends,
If there is still anyone here. Hope you are well. We haven't posted in awhile but we are moving our main works to INKR comics. Life of Death is back with a new artist and a full series set to debut at the end of the month! Come check us out there.

Are we the only ones having a hard time entering the new contest? formatting issues, reuploads, but it won't add the tag or keeps freezing when trying to update. A little help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated =]
We've been radio silent but we're finally back in the field. =] we've posted a new project and hope you all enjoy it. We'll be starting a new line of one-shots for contest purposes as well =D

It's coming to the closing end of the year and the contest are going strong! But there's still plenty of time left before the deadlines which means still plenty of time to get another entry in and that's exactly what we have planned. We're 4 pages in already and we'll include a sneak peek at 'Graveler', This next few contest are filled with good stories so we're aiming to keep the pace =] good luck everyone!
Just uploaded a new story for the JUMP contest and all it's missing is a cover to top it off. =] it's an experimental one shot but still was quite a bit of fun making and we would gladly ad a co-creator to the project if anyone is interested. It would be an honor for me to make a cover, but I'm currently trying to finish up on few art requests and my own manga I'm gonna submit in the JUMP contest... maybe when I have enough time, I'll ask. I'm very interested, so we'll see! Fingers crossed!
Finally took the manga to Tokyo today. The big appointment for Life of Death and it was very insightful. I have a lot to share and some is a bit disheartening. Starting on a good note they were very courteous and timely. They carefully read through the manga and gave the feedback on the art first. The paneling and angels weren't to their liking and they wanted more from the backgrounds and more interesting character designs. Nothing too hard to fix. Next came the story. This was a bit more difficult because he said the jokes were not 'japanese' and made it hard to follow the story. I understand the cultural bit there and was glad for the insight. Culture does have to be taken into consideration when dealing with JUMP. Also was told to simplify things and make it easier. The stories they want are easy reads with ACT123 simple plots. your basic introductions, nothing flashy. They even invite the 'narration' intro. Now the hard part here, and disheartening is what my translator told me after we were out. They had words with the editor that weren't immediately told to me. This was because the editor said 'americans should do american comics. Or someone on the team should be japanese to make it real manga'. Not sure if this view is shared with the rest of the editorial staff but it was upsetting to hear. To add salt to the wounds they said they specially want 'Japanese' working on their manga. Which begs the question, why even have a 'universal' contest? I'm still going to work with my team to make a new more 'shonen' entry but this was hard to hear. Internationals have a bigger disadvantage that just cultural and language gaps it appears.

That's a shame... But you got some advice at least. On the "xenophobic" thing, while that might as well be the case, I think there is a more simple answer. If you go there with your manga while not knowing japanese and not conforming to the "classic" manga format, they would have to take a huge risk to hire you. They would need to get you a visa, pay for the translation of the manga, and spend too much time explaining to you how to make it easier to follow for the japanese audience (which is tiring for both the editor and the artist). In short, it might just be because you're not japanese, but it might as well be that it's a huge risk hiring a foreigner even if they are perfect.

well we just have to make a manga so good they can't turn it down ! i know i sound way too cheerfull but hey! if you let words like those turn you down then you got no chance to realise your dreams ( damn that's way too optimistic than i usually tend to be -_-) anyway i beleive you guys can make it just don't let those words affect your determination! notice how i said "we" at the beginning it's because i aspire to be serialized at jump too! ( yes i'm aware of the difficulties and i know chances may go as low as below beibers testosterons rate -_- but hey besides manga i have no other life goals) ok i think i talked a lot about me in this last bit so much for cheering up someone else. well i just really like your work guys and i hope you make your dreams come true! ^^
Few updates here. we have finally translated the one shot/first chapter of Life of Death =] we're planning a trip to tokyo in two weeks to make submissions but will be posting it here as well =] also the side project we have going will be up in september =D Stay tuned
we're cooking up something new for the shonen jump contest =] should be finished by august. LoD artist is still down but writing for the story continues we'll try to keep the world updated =] thanks for checking in and here's a sneakpeek at whats coming ;D

HELLO,
we're moving a little slower than usual but still progressing. Recently we've had a change in artist due to dropping for being sick, we're also looking for a background artist as well. LoD will drop a chapter [admittedly the most botched xp] this week so stay ready =] and thanks for the support in these hard times!
Finally! We've finally begun the process of going from one-shot to series! Took a year to get properly coordinated but it has begun. we'll be doing 9-10 pages a month and more if the views are good ;) stay tuned and please check out the new chapter! peace!

A new one shot idea we're working with and prepping for contest. About a War God of Fire cast from heaven to serve out exile in the mortal world where he either earns back his status or is murdered by demons ;D be sure to give a looksy.

Long ago we self published a light novel called New Oz. It was a action packed remake of the wizard of oz with all kinds of new twist and turns and over the top fight scenes =) We will begin uploading it here in the novel section sometime this week! stay tuned! I haven't tried yet but I did think it's suspicious the entries were so low. I have another question though. In the original manga section, it says "completed manuscripts, no scenarios or names". What does that mean?
