Recently, I have been doing research on art history and epochs to broaden my horizon. I'm a great fan of impressionism and came along those pretty works by one of my favorite artists - Toulouse-Lautrec!
Since I am a rider and love horses to the infinite, I was super happy to find these (a little less known) paintings of him. I find that Toulouse-Lautrec really did catch the essence of these animals. Quite remarkable since during his time, and way before, artists had trouble depicting the appearance, proportions, anatomy and musculoskeletal system of horses. Especially in movement! Interesting, isn't it?
All in all, I am highly impressed by his work and already feel inspired to try out painting horses like that myself as I write this. 🌹🐴
