So I said it was going to get darker. But the picture got brighter?
Anyway Meirin/Meiling is the gatekeeper youkai of the Scarlett Devil Mansion. But what I always wondered is what kind of a youkai is she?
We know she is from China and that she is pretty much the chinese stereotype with her Martial arts and control of Qi. What else do we know?
Well, she can fly shoot beams and ... wait a second. What if she were a very special kind of youkai, a very humanoid kind of youkai. What being is similar to humans? Monkeys! But wait she doesn't have a tail, so she must have removed it.
Also she has a spellcard with which she raises her attack power and starts glowing.
Plus her hat says dragon.
With this the dark mystery is solved!
What being can fly, shoot chi, powers up in a golden light, is a monkey and is friendly towards dragons?
The answer is: A SUPER-SAIYAN!
