One of the versions of my illustration, this one is more focused on the macaque as it's very detailed in the original illustration, just so I could do a postcard. Even thought I don't speak, read or write japanes I gave the best of my abilities and checked how to write Kurumon Gate and Mount Atago (one of the two subjects of the image and it's location in Kyoto, respectivly). The wild boar on the crop out of the Japanese macaque is an animal that appeared very frequently in my research about Mount Atago and the Kuromon Gate. The wild boar is also drawned on a sign to the side of the actual gate in Kyoto, so I felt I just HAD to include it.
