A simple white sundress might be too obvious of a choice, but I feel it captures the atmosphere of summer best. I try not to use too many colours in one design so as to not oversaturate, so I had the colour of her hat and bag match her eyes, and her shoes match her hair. The flowers in her hair was to add flair and to represent a "blooming" and "fluttery" feeling as summer vacation approaches; naturally, the colour matches her dress.

I thought long about whether or not to add a background. On one hand, I wanted to put her in a shaded area as a contrast against the bright sun of summer, as well as give the impression of a young girl on summer vacation, which gave me the idea of putting her in a train station.

On the other hand, she's 20cm tall, and I don't think there are any train stations that small.

In the end, I decided to add one anyway, as I feel it supports her clothing in bringing out a summer atmosphere. I'll chalk it up to perspective, or that it's actually a diorama set.
