Help me to decide if this is a good prologue for mah story "Masterpiece"

I tore off across the field the wind howling around me, but I held on to the horn of the saddle determined to get to the storm shelter. I was almost there right when lightning flashed and thunder rumbled, it spooked Van Gogh and he reared. I tried to hold on but the saddle was to slippery and I fell to the hard ground with a thud, images of the news person showing the tornado had turned and was headed for my town, my parents out in the field rounding up the cattle just as the tornado rolled in. All of it just a blur and just before everything went black I saw Van Gogh looking at me with the same scared look he had the day I met him....
