Y'know, I was really naive back then (which isn't to say I still am) and I never realized how many people commented on my body. I can't tell you how many times both genders assaulted me, and the funny thing was that I believed that was ordinary. I had to conceal myself, and I still do so today, not because of self harm, but because I no longer wanted to be seen.
