he was the one that made the game (in lore, he's not real) as a present for his dying child, thea
as her condition got worse and worse he took over the project more and more, eventually leaving messages in the game that led to this:
"I am sorry i could not be with you in the end.
I was too afraid.
I ran, and now
I am in hell.
One i made myself.
I dreamed of you playing this one day
But you never will.
Please forgive me my little crow
Please forgive me, both of you.
-Dad"
this message was only present in the demo version of the game which was only showed off in videos, and the final version of the game released on itch has a different message from his son, nils, which i wont touch upon here because this isnt about him!!! manfred ftw /j
