I think I've got at the pre-production done, with a finished script, character designs, and other visual elements sorted out for the most part. I've started work on the actual manga pages now, and I'll be devoting this next week to rough drafting all the pages to make sure all the dialogue fits, figure out the flow of panels, etc. I actually finished my first ever panel today that was just a background with a narration bubble on it, and it leads me to think the panels where I mostly have bgs in frame might get done first, some during this drafting phase even, but no promises on that.
