Chapter Sixteen : Mission
Storm zipped back inside of their cave, their home had been broken into. He glanced around the room, their rug had been swept across the floor and their nests trampled. He walked over and lightly grasped the stone pot his father gave Harmony. It held a crack on it's side, he lightly set it back onto the table. He found a shell Melody had found a long time ago, their father had turned it into a necklace for her. He held it in his palms. He plopped on the floor, gazing at the sea. His family was gone, and they weren't coming back. He dangled his claws over the edge, listening to the lapping of water.
"Stormy!" He heard a voice yell from below. He sat up and darted his eyes around. "Stormy!"
He glanced along the outcrop of their cave, and saw the familiar glimpse of pastel scales.
"HARMONY!" He gasped sprinting to his sister down from their cave. She was standing on the sand, water dripped from her scales. She had just gotten out from the water. She swam away from the attack.
"Storm- UFF," Harmony said as her brother forcefully ran into her chest to hug her.
"I thought everyone was gone," Storm squeezed his sister.
"Storm- Storm it's okay," she said quickly, trying to calm her brother down. "Don't cry-"
But before he knew it tears streamed down his face, and he quietly wept into his sister's neck. His lip quivered and his talons quaked.
"They're gone- they're all gone, Harmony- they're gone," Storm gasped, shutting his eyes.
Harmony didn't say anything, she only stayed still staring at the ground. She wasn't crying though.
"Storm, everything's gonna be okay," she said reassured. "I'll get them back."
Storm flinched and gazed up at her. What did she just say?
"What do you mean?" Storm asked shaking her arm. "No! Don't leave!"
"Storm, my family is in danger. Our family is in danger, and I'm getting them back," she said sternly.
"Atleast get the Sea Kingdom to help," Storm pleaded.
"No," Harmony slowly shook her head. "There's no way they can survive in the mountain areas, and no way they're letting us leave the Kingdom," she said.
"But-" Storm started.
"Just promise me one thing," Harmony covered her brother's mouth. Storm nodded. "Promise me you'll stay safe and out of sight, I promise I'll be back."
"MMMH-" Storm yanked her claws off of his face. "WHAT." He shouted. "YOU CAN'T GO ALONE," he urged.
"There's no other choice Storm. The Sea Kingdom will detain us here, and if I don't they'll eventually find me anyways," she shot back.
"Then I'm going too-" Harmony shook her head again. "What? WHY NOT."
"It's dangerous," she said stamping her foot.
"Oh~ but not for you," Storm retorted sarcastically. "They're MY family too, and if you go I'm going," he said trying to be assertive.
"Storm," Harmony said annoyed. "Ughh."
"Melody needs us, and mom, and dad," Storm begged. He wasn't adventurous like Melody, or creative like Harmony, but he wanted to show he could do something too. He wanted to show we wasn't a baby like his sisters said he was. He wanted to show he was more than they said he was.
"Hey! There's two dragons over here!" A Sea Dragon hollered.
"GO GO GO," Harmony dove into the water and darted toward the Earth Kingdom. Storm dashed into the air, following his sister's scales under the water. She leapt out of the water to make sure she was seen from time to time.
"They're leaving!" The Sea Dragon called out.
Storm craned his neck around, Sea Dragons huddled around their home, exploring their cave. Some stared at them as they fled, and others gathered around the beach.
He was going to get his family back, and nothing would stop him.
