I don't know where Craig and Mitchell's dynamic relationship is going. It's confusing for me, now. And I should know this. I am aware that Mitchell has suppressed feelings for the former, but I don't know about Craig. I do know that Craig is semi-out about being bisexual, so that's down. But with Mitchell, I don't even know what he is and by his personality, he wouldn't enjoy being labeled; it makes it worse that he has negative connotations to the word "gay" or "homosexual." Mostly because he doesn't want to be those things and thus stifles it. Another thing that makes me question their dynamic: Mitchell is afraid of romantic attraction. He's frightened of commitment, and isn't comfortable with the idea of spending his whole life with one woman. So why have feelings for a person when you know you're afraid?
On the other hand, Craig is aware of his feelings, doesn't care as much, and continues to befriend Mitchell; it doesn't matter until it does. Plus, since Mitchell is so explicit with disgust of the LBGTQ+ community, he strays away from the topic and anything that might provoke him. So yay for shitty friendships and beating around the bush to avoid further growth of something good.
