Chapter Twenty: Risk
Storm started shaking uncontrollably when the dragon started walking his way. He was thrice as big as he, and stood over Storm like a tower. But he managed to distract him long enough for Harmony to move away, that was all that mattered. So how would he get out of this situation?

"You don't belong here," Peak said with discreet crispness that startled Storm.

     "Huh?" Storm asked innocently.

"Young dragonets like you shouldn't be here," Peak added. He didn't sound deadly at all, well- at the moment. "You should be back at home in the Ice Village."

"Oh- well I, I just wanted to.." Storm stuttered. "I wanted to see someone, and I uh, got very lost."

Storm tried fixing his wings into place. Peak actually thought Storm was another Ice Dragon. He could play off his whole time here being an Ice Dragon, and no one would notice a thing.

"Oh? Who? Are you related?" Peak asked curiously.

"Errm-" Storm glanced around nervously, and blurted out the first name he could think of.
"Frostbite. Yes, we're brothers." Storm hesitated on the word 'brothers'.

Peak's subtle smile faded, and he proped his head up to look around, walking toward another part of the prison. Peak talked while walking ahead. Storm glanced behind his back, his mother was peering solemnly through the bars, it probably hurt to see her son go.

"Frostbite was a traitor, why would you want to speak to him after what he's done?" He asked with superiority.

"Well, I heard he got locked up here but I didn't know what it was for.." Storm looked down, that could be taken either as guilty or innocent.

"You don't?" Peak asked, Storm tensed. What if he found out Storm was lying? Did he know who Frostbite was? What if Peak was plotting to kill him already? "It's a shame what he did. He went against our kind, and instead freed an Air Dragon prisoner." Peak answered bitterly.

"An Air Dragon?" Storm asked, trying to keep the conversation on more about whoever those dragons were, rather than himself.

"They escaped not that long ago, this morning I believe, but we caught him. Have you come to chastise your sibling?" Peak asked, snickering a little.

"Uhh, yea- he was stupid for betraying us!" Storm chirped, trying to side with Peak. He saw Peak give a light side smirk.

They stopped at another cell, Storm peered inside and a dragon lay on the floor toward one of the walls. Peak banged his claws on the bars.

"Get up," Peak said aggressively, startling Storm again.

Storm watched as the figure inside shuffled and shifted his wings.

"I said GET UP YOU PIECE OF WALRUS BLUBBER," Peak roared again.

This time the figure moved and sat up, turning around but leaving his head down, almost like he was continuously bowing.

"You have a visitor," the huge dragon hissed, pat Storm on the back with his purple wings, and waited. The dragon in the cell slowly lifted his head, looking at Storm with tired eyes. There was a short period of silence, like they were both thinking the same thing. Storm knew this dragon, he was the one he saw with Melody..

"Have at it," Peak said toward Storm, he hesitated. He didn't want to hurt this dragon, even if it wasn't physical.

"Hey stupid!" Storm said sternly. GREEEEAT start Storm. "Yeah you! You're stupid for betraying us!! We'll never take you back! I HATE YOU." Storm looked up at Peak for reassurance, Peak only looked back down at Storm with his face saying 'Well- good enough. I guess kids can't really swear.'

Frostbite stood silently, still gazing at Storm with an intense stare. Storm hoped this dragon hadn't seen him at all- that would ruin his plans. Frostbite mouthed some words silently under his breathe, frowning then turning his head away.

"When you speak, SPEAK CLEARLY." Peak hissed.

Storm saw Frostbite flinch and back away from the bars, drooping his wings. He stared at Storm, then at Peak, then back at Storm again. He gave an odd twisted face at the two of them. Well- this was awkward. What was he thinking? Was he fooling anyone by pretending to be another Ice Dragon? Oh feathers- how would he get out of this situation?? Storm fidgeted his claws, he heard a click from down the hall and to the left, then the scampering of pairs of feet, one set large and the other small. Peak looked like he heard it as well.

"Well, I have business to attend to," he said abruptly.

"Wait-" Storm started. Peak looked at him questioningly. "I want to see one more dragon." Storm begged.

"Do you know Storm?" Storm asked.

Peak looked at him with disgust, reeling back at the name he had just said. It felt odd saying his own name. He saw a small flicker of rage in Peak's eyes, but saying that seemed to make Peak forget about the click noise.

"Why, he's already in the court, I was just about to bring a dragon there," Peak added. He was going to get Calcite to bring her there as well, and Storm knew. "You're welcome to come." Peak stared at Storm with devilish eyes.

Storm gulped, he didn't know what to do. If he didn't go, it'd mean his father would die, and he didn't even TRY to do anything about it. If he did go, he'd be seperated from Harmony and his mother, knowing his father was dying at that moment. Just then a guard flew down the cooridor, hollering.

"Boss! Some dragon escaped!" Peak stood dumbfounded, then whirled his head to Storm.

Storm twitched in his place, glancing at Frostbite from within the bars. Their eyes seemed to say 'Oh no.' to each other at the same time.

     'Oh no.' Storm thought.
