  • First, sorry for the super late feedback. But anyway, as you said, this is your best work yet! There's not much I have to say, because there isn't anything that stands out as "lesser" to me. Pretty much every panel looks great, designs are neat, story and writing feels like it actually has effort put into it (not that the others didn't). There's also a whole lot more detail in the backgrounds this time around, which was really only the one thing ever missing for me. I'd be curious to know though, do you plan on continuing making all these separate oneshots? Or do you plan to start a series at some point? The only reason I'm asking is just to see if you're still wanting to just "play" around creatively, trying these different genres and such. Don't let it go to your head, but I will admit you've got skill. So I guess you can be proud, at least a little bit. Heh, seriously though, if you want any more discussion on this, send a message to me and I'll try to respond to it soon.

  • > chikitooo Thank you very much! I'm glad to hear that. :D

  • I'm happy that I get to read another one of your works! Just like Abyssal Yoma said you're getting better and better. I've really liked the darkness and humor in your works since the beginning and I'm looking forward to more! :)

  • > Abyssal Yoma Thank you so much for the feedback! I really appreciate your input on this. Glad you feel my artwork is improving. I'm confident my next one-shot will be even better, so please look forward to that.

  • First impressions, man your artwork is getting really good! Salibre and Rue have pretty strong character designs that are slick and memorable. The variation in the posing, shots, facial expressions for all the characters is well done. I mean, nearly every other page has a cool shot of a character. It gives a sense of style that really helps it come more alive, I think. To me, it feels like your really hitting your stride with these oneshots. There's a lot of personality here, with the humor in the writing, the funny shots including the pixelated gore, and so on. For 31 pages there's a pretty decent amount of story here, with the Mcs' characters shown well, giving the reader a sense of who they are. The relationship between Salibre and Rue has some good humor in it and feels pretty natural from the start. The little scene on pages 24-25 with Salibre's reaction is pretty good too. The shots of her increasingly suprised moe-blob face work well with the comedy of the lines.

  • Fuck so Scary

  • > Abyssal Yoma Thank you once again for the criticism! This is the kind of feedback that really helps me improve by having things pointed out honestly from a reader's point of view. I'll be sure to keep your advice in mind to make my future works better.

  • Confusing parts: On page 27, I'm having trouble deciding what motivated Fumiko to break her "taboo" on hacking to get to Asahi's webcam. Was it because she was suspicious of the two requests sent by the same person? If so, why Asahi's webcam and not the other person? Or was it the flashback to her snacks getting stomped on? Did that anger her enough to disregard her self-imposed restriction? To me, she didn't come across earlier as someone who loses herself in the heat of the moment. Anything else I can think of: On page 28, in the rectangular dialogue boxes there is a shift to a "narrator perspective". There runs a risk with having the main character being a narrator that it sort of telegraphs the ending as having them resolve the events, which can lessen dramatic tension. This can be worked around by, for example, having the narration taking place from a point in the story before the end, at a time where they are reflecting on things and haven't necessarily resolved things.

  • Pacing comments: Only one minor criticism for pacing, and it's mainly personal preference. There are very few panels that don't have dialogue on them, so the story doesn't "breathe" that often. Stuff like Haru getting snacks on pg. 16, to me, gives the sense that the world of the story has life to it that continues even when characters aren't speaking. Or to try to put it better, it staves off the impression that there is only ever notable things happening when dialogue is going. I know it isn't an easy thing to balance, since there's so much story to tell and only so many panels to do it in. Otherwise, as far as I can tell there is a good balance between "filler" dialogue to establish character personalities and "meaty" dialogue that adds to the narrative.

  • > ILNeGeAr Thank you for the comment! I'm currently working on another manga, so I'll have to decide between the two once I have the first chapter for that done.

  • > Abyssal Yoma Thank you for your feedback! I got inspired by various characters I saw from other artists that had a similar aesthetic to Black Rock Shooter. As for the feedback, yeah, the spiked cape wasn't a really good idea, and now that you point it out, I can definitely see how the midsection is contrasting too much with the rest of the outfit, adding a fishnet mesh or some other detail to it would improve it. Thanks again for your help!

  • First things first I can't help but ask if this character was inspired by the designs of Black Rock Shooter. If so, good taste. If not, still good taste. On a serious note, there are two criticisms I can offer on a design standpoint. I get that the talons on the cape are likely supposed to evoke the imagery of a bat, but in my opinion they seem like they would constantly be scraping and jabbing at her arms and back as she moves around. Additionally, with how complex the rest of the outfit is, I feel like the midsection is a little too bare. If you still want to maintain a fair amount of skin showing, maybe add some fishnet mesh to her stomach area? Just my two cents. Besides that, the color palette is nice as it lends her the air of cold steel. Also, the little pixel trail on the scythe and drone clearly indicate that they are more tech and cyber based, rather than mere physical instruments, which plays into her ability so nice art cohesion there.
