I want to know how I can be friends with someone for so long, and when they finally show their true colours (around me or not) they end up being incredibly toxic to my interests and uncaring of other peoples' likes.
Just because you don't like a specific thing doesn't automatically mean someone is toxic for liking it. While I would understand things like kpop dni and not wanting to take chances, almost everyone on this site that likes dsmp is a good-hearted individual and doesn't deserve to die for enjoying their interest. It's so scary to know that there are people like this in the world. It hurts like a motherfucker when someone close to you ends up being toxic about something you like - and they know you like.
What I'm trying to say is: Enjoy something you like and don't drop it to make other people happy. I've been guilty of this shit and I know so many other people have been as well. Liking things that seem childish doesn't make you an embarrassment or a disappointment. It just means you've found something you like. And don't let other people stop you.

broskis is it bad im doing absolutely nothing to help my mental health (find a therapist, get better coping mechanisms, etc.) at all since i think that will just make it worse?
i keep having what my mom calls "meltdowns" where even just talking is so tiring i cant even respond or interact with people at all every damn night-
