Translation Staff

MediBang TraDe is looking to expand our network of translators and editors of manga and game content. 
Want to be more involved in the world of Japanese manga and games? If you’re enthusiastic about getting more experience in the world of manga and games, then now is your chance!

Responsibilities:

-Producing accurate and natural-sounding translations.
-Keeping up with deadlines and communicating with staff regarding details about each project.
-Reporting any missing pages/text.
-Keeping a glossary of terms/character names.
-Language pairs we are looking for: Japanese→Chinese, Korean→Japanese, Japanese→English, Japanese→Spanish, Japanese→Thai.

Requirements:

-Must be 20 years or older
-Native or near-native level English; strong command of the English language.
-Excellent creative writing skills and be able to understand colloquialisms/slang in both source and target languages.
-Strong interest in source language pop culture/manga/webtoons.
-Have experience using Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.
-Be comfortable with “NSFW” content.
-In addition to the above, game translators must have familiarity with different types of games.

𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲:

-Previous experience with writing or editing (published or personal).
-Experience working in fields dealing with source language pop culture/manga/games.
-Photoshop experience.
-Familiarity with coding.

Selection Process:

Typesetting Staff

MediBang TraDe is looking to expand our network of typesetters and letterers of manga and game content. Want to be more involved in the world of Japanese manga and games? If you’re enthusiastic about getting more experience in the world of manga and games, then now is your chance!
Typesetting translations as well as choosing and maintaining fonts for use in each title.
Depending on the title, redraw of text and/or background elements may be necessary.
A manual will be provided to ensure even inexperienced typesetters need not worry.

Responsibilities:

-Typesetting translated Japanese manga and Korean webtoons for an English-speaking audience according to the style guide.
-Keeping up with deadlines and communicating with staff regarding details about each project.
-Reporting any missing pages/translation or anything that looks incorrect with the data.

Requirements:

-Must be 20 years or older.
-Must be able to converse in either Japanese or English.
-Have experience using Photoshop and have unimpeded access to Photoshop CS5 or above.
-Be familiar with manga or webtoons, especially in the target language.
-Have experience using Google Docs, Sheets, etc.
-Be punctual and able to stick to deadlines.
-Be comfortable with “NSFW” content.

𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲:

-Previous experience with typesetting, design, or drawing manga/webtoons (published or personal).
-Experience working in fields dealing with Japanese/Korean pop culture/manga/games.
-Typesetting experience in other languages.
